All Women mother in one way or another. Did you know you mother because that is how God created you? We have been given relational and emotional strengths.
He created us Women to help, nurture, nourish, encourage, care for, teach, watch over, and protect. You dont have to give birth to mother. You were created to be a life-giver. You may care for someone. You may adopt a child. You may care for an animal. You may nurture and protect others like the elderly. You may intentionally invest and pour into someone. You may be a role model. You may simply just encourage from time to time and pray for someone.
Remember someone is always watching and learning from you. Being motherly is a gift and a calling. Regardless of age or stage of life us women are called to care for, help, encourage, and love others.
One of my favorite types of mothering is “Spiritual Mothering”. Susan hunt- “Being a spiritual Mother means you can help nurture others in the faith. You do not need to give birth biologically or be a certain chronological age to be a Spiritual Mother. It’s when a woman enters into an intentional nurturing relationship with another to encourage and equip them to live for God’s glory. It is life-on-life discipleship of sharing the gospel and our lives with one another. You are a woman who has had life experiences and there may be a younger woman or child in your life who is going through that same life experience you can disciple them through.”
You don’t have to be perfect to be a Spiritual Mother. You just need to be real, honest, share what you have learned, and point them to Christ. I am praying for a few spiritual mothers who will get tough with me, hold me accountable to God’s word, encourage me to grow in my gifts and maturity. To pray with and for me.
Spiritual motherhood is beautiful. It is what God tells us to do in His word. There are many women longing for a relationship that will help them grow in their faith, their gifts, and obedience to Him.
It’s showing Jesus to others and helping them to see life from the perspective of God’s sovereign love and our purpose to glorify Him. I pray that God would raise up more women who are teachable and more women who pour their lives, their hearts, their time, their resources, even their sweat, and tears into the next generation. I Pray for God to help you see who and how He wants you to Spiritually Mother. Each intentional relationship you invest in will cause a ripple effect that will influence families, churches, communities, our nation, and the world to live for God’s glory.
❤️A few quotes from Revive Our Hearts Ministry-
“We need to have those multi-generational, inter-generational relationships where we’re imparting life or encouraging; we’re getting perspective; we’re modeling biblical graces; we’re teaching what is good.”
“We must not look at the experiences in our lives as failures but look at them redemptively. We must see how that God takes what our enemy would tell us to be failures and God uses that redemptively by teaching us more of Himself through that experience, by bringing an element of maturity into our lives as we went through that painful experience, that we can now use to disciple others.”
“In God’s economy nothing is wasted, and we need to say that to women over and over and over. Take that experience; hold it up before the Lord as your sacrifice unto Him, and watch Him take it and teach you through it and shape you into Himself and enable you to minister to another who perhaps is going through that very situation.”
“You don’t have to have ‘arrived’ or be a spiritual giant to be a spiritual mother. It is about sharing your life and sharing the word with another sinful human being, and being real and acknowledging where you too have to grow.”
