Why am I here? What is my purpose? It’s very hard to not drift off track and to be confused with everything around us in the world. Many people focus on many things, there wants, and desires. Some people feel empty and lost.
Some people may not know or even have heard about God. What are they are trying to build their life on? What do they think can make them truly fufilled and happy? I believe without knowing and trusting God you are empty and lost. You don’t know your true calling or purpose. He created us and knows exactly who we are and what we need. Although many are called and few are chosen. We all were created for a purpose. Its not about our wants and desires. How successful we can become, what we want, or how we feel.
If I am truly a believer and follower of Jesus Christ I am apart of the body the church. I am called to love and serve like Jesus. Not to focus on my wants and desires. It’s not about me!
I will be honest it is hard for me to not drift especially if I don’t spend daily time with him. It’s hard to not be selfish. I want! Poor me! Look at me!
The body of Christ is to fulfill the great commission. That is the mission that is our purpose. Creating relationships and spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ. Using our unique gifts and talents to love and serve others. It isn’t for our selfish desires its to inspire and bless others. We need to be growing in our faith and encouraging one another. Building new relationships and mending broken ones.
I always like to ask my self to re focus is this what I want to be doing when God comes back? I want to make God proud. There are so many people that need to hear Christ’s message. Are we doing what God really wants us to do? Are we finding ways to share the gospel with others. What are we really focused on? Is our life centered on our wants and desires? Or is it focused on what God wants?
One of my favorite scriptures.
And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and teachers, to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ, so that we may no longer be children, tossed to and fro by the waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by human cunning, by craftiness in deceitful schemes. Rather, speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ, from whom the whole body, joined and held together by every joint with which it is equipped, when each part is working properly, makes the body grow so that it builds itself up in love.
Ephesians 4:11-16 ESV
The enemy likes to trick us, steal, and destroy. He doesn’t want us to be focused on God and living out our purpose becuase he knows we will live an eternity of joy and everlasting love. He tries to do everything he can here on earth to mess with us. To confuse us and drift us away from our calling.
This is why its so important to surround yourself with followers of Jesus Christ. To uplift, encourage, and strengthen one another. Spend time daily alone with God. Listen to what he wants to tell you. Study and learn why you have the belief and faith in God. Share the good news with others.
If he chose us for his kingdom we are to glorify him.
