Has God ever asked you to do something outside your comfort zone?
Did you know that every thing he asks you to do is a chance to grow closer to him. Sometimes those requests seem impossible. Really are you serious I need to do what? Just think of the virgin Mary and what she must have thought when the angel of the Lord approached her with the news that she would conceive a baby.
LUKE 1:31-34. You will conceive and give birth to a son, and you are to call him Jesus. He will be great and will be called the son of the most high. The Lord God will give him the throne of his father David, and he will reign over Jacob’s descendants forever; his kingdom will never end.” “How will this be,” Mary asked the angel, “since I am a virgin?”
Just think how Mary must have felt. What are you crazy. What will everyone think. I’m not made for this. Who am I. I can’t do this. Is that what you may think or feel when asked to do or be something outside of your comfort zone? I understand and can relate. Those God moments can often seem impossible. Just remember this is your moment with God. He is pursuing you.
MARK 10:27 Jesus looked at them and said, “with man this is impossible, but not with God; all things are possible with God.”
When God moments come just say Yes! Our hope and trust must weigh more than our questions. Write down your questions. Pray and ask for guidance and every step of the way. God is writing your story. Your God moment will open the door for God’s best in your life. Don’t listen to the naysayers and surround yourself with people who uplift and encourage you.
MARK 5:36 Overhearing what they said, Jesus told him, “Don’t be afraid; Just believe.”
God has blessings waiting for us on the other side of our obedience. Get advice and encouragement from people who have been walking with the Lord longer than you. Study men and women of faith. Don’t fight the Lord’s way. He is molding you and changing you for a reason. He has a purpose for your life.
Stay connected to God. Worship him, study the gospel, and rest in him. Slow down and take time to grow your most important relationship with Jesus Christ. My family and I pray for each other every morning and spend at least 10 min listening to praise and worship music before we start our day. We also spend at least 10 min a day in his presence. Prayer works wonders.
JOHN 15:5. “When you are joined with me and I with you, the relation intimate and organic, the harvest is sure to be abundant. Separated, you can’t produce a thing.
Stay connected to your purpose. You spiritual gifts and talents are to build up the body of Christ and to glorify God. Stay connected to the people who love and encourage you.
HEBREWS 10:23-25 Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful. And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another- and all the more as you see the day approaching.
Stay connected to the bigger picture. JESUS IS COMING BACK. The holy spirit lives within us and we are living here on earth to encourage others to love God and have eternal life. Live your purpose. God will direct your steps. It is so worth it!!
